We often hear about the importance of Lean to cope with a tougher competitive climate. But only chasing efficiency and cutting costs are not enough for a company to survive and thrive in the long run.

På 1970-talet tävlade Sovjetunionen och USA i kapplöpningen om att utforska månen. Sovjet hade inte de ekonomiska musklerna att likt USA:s Appoloprogram landsätta en människa på månen så de satsade i stället på att landa en obemannad farkost på månens mörka baksida som sedan kunde sända Tv-bilder tillbaka till jorden.

In the 1970s, the Soviet Union and the United States competed in the race to explore the moon. The Soviet Union did not have the economic muscles, like the United States Apollo Program, to land a man on the moon, so instead they put their effort into landing an unmanned vehicle on the dark back side of the moon that could then send TV pictures back to earth.
Vad naturen kan lära oss om kreativitet
Vi människor har som art vårt ursprung på savannen, i skogen och nära vattnet. Det är i dessa miljöer vi utvecklats under årmiljonerna till de kreativa varelser vi äri dag, och som, på gott och ont, småningom lyckats behärska den planet som vi här delar med allt annat biologiskt liv.
Kreativiteten får utan tvekan mycket av sin näring från kontakten med andra människor; de oväntade mötena, åsikterna som bryts och de nya impulserna, men åtminstone för mig måste detta konstrateras med intryck och upplevelser från skog och vatten.
What nature could teach us about creativity
As a human species, we originate from the savanna, the forests and close to the water. It is in these environments we evolved during the millennia to the creative beings we are today, who, for good and for bad, eventually took over the planet we share here with all other biological life.
Creativity, undoubtedly, gets a lot of its impulses from the contacts with other people; the unexpected meetings, the discussions and the new impulses, but at least for me, this has to be contrasted with impressions and experiences from forest and water.
